We urge you not to enroll in the Government Drug Plan until you have received ARTA's information on the revised plan design provisions for prescription drugs, extended health care and travel benefits to be effective July 1, 2010.

On every occasion that I have had to meet with our branches, I have tried to remind members that the common experiences we have had as teachers bind us together in many ways. From our commitment while trying to guide youngsters as they developed the skills that would allow them to be contributing members of our society and culture, we emerged with a social consciousness that persists to this day.

Our active membership is now over 10,000. While this increase is partly the demographic effect of more teachers reaching retirement age, we believe that our organization is becoming increasingly useful to retirees so they continue to join us.

We now have our membership registration and renewal procedure online. This is only available to our regular retired teacher members and affiliate members in the educational sector (retired teachers and support staff, university, college and technical institution's personnel).

Under phase one, middle-income seniors will not be paying less for their prescription drugs. They will be paying so much more that they will cover the cost of free prescription drugs for low-income seniors while, according to the government's own figures, saving $20 million in public spending.

Phishing-the act of sending an e-mail to a user falsely claiming to be an established legitimate enterprise in an attempt to scam the user into surrendering private information that will be used for identify theft.
