ARTA Governance

The Alberta Retired Teachers' Association (ARTA) has begun a transition from an executive governed organization to one led by a Board of Directors in which each of the Branch Presidents serves as a Director. The ARTA President, Vice-President, Treasurer and the Chairs of Standing Committees also sit on the Board. The Board of Directors determines ARTA Policies and overall direction of the organization. The day to day business is carried on by the ARTA Office Staff and is overseen by the ARTA Executive Director, Mr. Don Mock.

Among the goals for the new governance structure are the development of a three-year business plan, full participation and representation in pension matters, and improvements in the Health, Dental and Travel Insurance Plan. On this Governance page, ARTA will try to keep its membership current with what is happening in the organization. You will find below links to various documents that will help clarify the governance of ARTA. If you have questions, please contact one of the Board of Directors directly.
